Substitutive nomenclature is a method for naming a still life in which a component of the still life is replaced with another named component. For example, beehive with nine consists of a beehive (top-left) and a nine (right). It can also be viewed as an integral sign in which one of its pre-blocks (top-left) is replaced with a beehive (i.e. a beehive is substituted for a pre-block), in which case it would be substitutively called integral with beehive.
