23334M is a methuselah with a lifespan of 23334 generations that was found by Tomas Rokicki some time before February 21, 2005. It is notable because it is one of very few patterns to naturally emit a lightweight spaceship during the course of its evolution. For this pattern, the lightweight spaceship is created on the west side at generation 13811, before it is partially disturbed by a nearby set of cells but survives and starts to escape westwards.

Simon Ekström identified an 11-cell equivalent fitting in the same 5×8 bounding box on May 13, 2016.[1]

Stable pattern

The stable pattern that results from 23334M has 2898 cells and consists of 207 blocks, 171 blinkers (including 14 traffic lights), 115 beehives (including six honey farms), 70 gliders, 32 loaves, 23 boats, seven tubs, six ships, four ponds, two long boats, two beacons, one toad, and one lightweight spaceship.[2]
