Bakery is a common formation of two half-bakeries. It is one of the familiar fours. The name was coined by James F. Harford, although it is unknown if he was the first to discover this constellation. Harford also reported an 8-cell predecessor which is referred to in Lifeline Volume 4 as "yeast",[1] although at least one 7-cell predecessor is known as well, which converges with yeast in generation 2.
