Homer (or 42883M) is a methuselah with a lifespan of 42883 generations, discovered by Adam P. Goucher on November 30, 2018, using apgsearch.[1] It was the longest-lasting known methuselah to fit within a 16×16 bounding box until the discovery of 47575M in February 2019.

Stable pattern

The stable pattern that results from 42883M (excluding 52 escaping gliders) has 4073 cells and consists of 330 blinkers (including 27 traffic lights), 318 blocks, 171 beehives (including ten honey farms), 45 loaves, 49 boats, 13 ships, eight tubs, eight ponds, three long boats, two ship-ties in the form of a fleet, and one toad.
