Dock (or long house) is an induction coil.

Unlike house, dock can function as an eater for individual gliders, using the pre-block tipped ends similarly to that of the original fishhook eater.

By itself, it dies in 7 generations.

The dock is the most common 4-cell induction coil to attach to a block as part of an oscillator, such as dock on unix and dock on blocker. With a bare block, the table is marginally more common than the dock.
