The 8-engine Cordership is a c/12 diagonal spaceship that was discovered by Dean Hickerson on March 7, 1998.
Extensible version
On October 2, 2022, dani constructed an extensible 8-engine Cordership using four identical pairs of switch engines that had recently appeared in Catagolue. The switch engines are in two (optionally) identical groups of four directly behind each other. The second pair in each group is three cells (mod 8) behind the first pair. All three of the trailing pairs can be independently delayed any number of ticks, as shown below.[1]
