47P72 (or two blockers hassling R-pentomino[1]) is a period 72 oscillator. It was the first period 72 oscillator to be found,[2] and was discovered by Robert Wainwright in July 1990. In terms of its 47 cells, it is also the smallest known period 72 oscillator.

It is made up of two blockers that are hassling two blocks and an R-pentomino. It makes appearances in many large guns such as the gunstars and new gun 2.
