Negentropy is a period-2 oscillator related to the Hertz oscillator. Somewhat surprisingly, these share the same stator despite having different rotors (similar to pinwheel and clock 2). One phase of the Hertz oscillator, whose period is 8, has a single live cell in its rotor, adhering to a short side of the stator. Negentropy's rotor has two live cells huddled in one corner of the stator, and period 2. Finally, two radially opposed live cells create an oscillator of period 1 - a still life - in two different ways.
The smallest casing of the oscillator uses two blocks and two snakes as induction coils stabilizing the edges.
