Flying wing is a growing spaceship created by Emerson J. Perkins for the 2010 Pattern of the Year competition.[1] It is built of four backrake 1s whose output gliders are consumed by a reaction which moves a line of beehives at the back of the ship. The back part therefore moves at a speed of (3,5)c/28, so not only does the spaceship lengthen, but it grows outwards as well.
