Caterer on figure eight is a period 24 oscillator composed of a caterer and a figure eight. In terms of its 24 cells, it is the smallest known period 24 oscillator.[1]
Despite being composed of two oscillators of smaller period (3 and 8 respectively), it is considered non-trivial because it has a single cell that is alive in generation 23 and is dead in its other 23 phases.
