114P6H1V0 is an unnamed c/6 orthogonal spaceship that was discovered by Paul Tooke in October 2008. It was the second c/6 orthogonal spaceship to be found that does not involve a dragon (the first one being 274P6H1V0).
Many spaceships have side sparks that can be used to modify or clean up other objects as they pass by, but this spaceship is unusual in that it has a strong central forward spark, and it travels slowly enough to allow this spark to interact with other objects without destroying the spaceship. The forward spark is strong enough that the spaceship can run right over some common still lifes and small oscillators and continue on unharmed.[1]
The back spark allows it to perturb a glider in various ways when assisted by other c/6 spaceships. This could form the basis of a dirty c/6 puffer, or even a clean rake, if the glider can be recycled perpetually. The first c/5 orthogonal puffer was found using this method, and it has a period of over 60 000.
Variants
The front part of the spaceship can support itself, thereby allowing the spaceship to be extended arbitrarily. Indeed, the front part was found as a wick, which was later stabilised by Paul Tooke after a very extensive search. More impressively, the repeatable component can stabilise itself in any of three unique ways.
In May 2009, Hartmut Holzwart found a pushalong for this spaceship, shown below in green.[2]
