c/176 diagonal in a weird rule:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
obo$o2bo$2o!
The traffic light evolves into this snowball pattern:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
3o$obo$3o!
p4, p8:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 4, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
2bo10b2o$2bo9bob2o$3o9b3o$13bo!
EDIT: p3, 2 p4s:

Code: Select all

x = 27, y = 9, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
25b2o$24bobo$o23bo$o9bo11bob2o$o8b2obo8bo$bo8b3o9bob2o$bo9bo12bo$bo9bo
bo10bobo$12b2o11b2o!
EDIT: Another p4 that popped up as I was typing that:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
4bo$3b3o$3bobo$b2o$2o$b2o!
And yes:

Code: Select all

x = 37, y = 9, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
4bo12bo14bo$3b3o10b3o12b3o$3bobo10bobo12bobo$b2o11b2o3b2o8b2o3b2o$2o
11b2o5b2o6b2o5b2o$b2o11b2o3b2o8b2o3b2o$31bobo$31b3o$32bo!
EDIT: And just when you thought the slew of p4s was over:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 5, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
4bo$bob3obo$o7bo$bobobobo$2bo3bo!

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 9, rule = B3-jqr/S01c2-in3
3bo$4bo$o2bo$2o2$2o$o2bo$4bo$3bo!

Code: Select all

This rule

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 10, rule = B2in34-ajnrt5cekqy678/S12n34ceijqwz5678
b2ob3o$4b3obo$b2o3bo$4ob5o$ob3obob2o$3b3o2b2o$2o2b3o$2o3b3obo$ob2o2b2o
bo$b3ob2o!
produces really big and beautiful diagonally symmetric patterns from very few cells. For example, 5 to almost 600k:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B2in34-ajnrt5cekqy678/S12n34ceijqwz5678
2obo2$3bo$3bo!
7 to over 3mil:

Code: Select all

x = 36, y = 36, rule = B2in34-ajnrt5cekqy678/S12n34ceijqwz5678
34bo$32bob2o2$34bo31$bo$o!
I know that it's not record-breaking or anything like that... it just looks really cool IMO.

Weird, points to 9T:

Code: Select all

x = 31, y = 15, rule = B2e3-c5r/S2-c3-eqr
5bo2bo$5b4o$29b2o$29bo$29bo$2o27b2o$2bo10b2o$2bo3b2o5bo$2o4b2o5bo$13b

Also, a bug in LifeViewer I found while doing this: when selecting a selection by dragging from the southwest to the northeast, the copy-paste feature will not work correctly.

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 9, rule = B3-jqr/S01c2-in3
3bo$4bo$o2bo$2o2$2o$o2bo$4bo$3bo!

Code: Select all

Yeah, it's basically Castles + every single birth condition and every single stable condition that don't cause everything to explode.
And 5.87 million is not equal to gazillion, but it's close :) Almost 1mil of FI score!

EDIT: forget about the rule above. Without S4w it's much better. And by "much" i mean this:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B2in34-ajnrt5cekqy678/S12n34ceijqz5678
obo$bo$bo!
From 4 cells to almost 38mil in 300k gens, and I'm sure there are better methuselahs, but simulating only this one took over 7 minutes on my computer... I guess that a rule can't be closer to being explosive, right?

EDIT2: 5 cells to over 126 mil... it was running about an hour...

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B2in34-ajnrt5cekqy678/S12n34ceijqz5678
3bo$obo$bo$2bo!

I don't think this is possible unfortunately, as even the minimum rule is still pretty explosive:
|isorulemin = B2i3-n4ikrty5j/S23-k5ak7e
|isorulemax = B2i3-n4cikrty5j/S23-k4c5aek6i7e8

I like hdjens' gmo snowflakes rule. If we find more interesting things, it may merit a thread.
There are a lot of 1 time reflectors for the ship:

Code: Select all

x = 18, y = 19, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
2o$2o15$15bobo$14bo2bo$16b2o!
Almost-a-catalyst

Code: Select all

x = 19, y = 19, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
2o$2o15$16bobo$15bo2bo$17b2o!
Challenge:
Find p1 glider and ant eaters:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 9, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
3b3o$5bo$4bo3$3o$3o$3bo$2bo!
At p4 a preloaf can eat a G:

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 12, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
2bo$2bo$3o7$9b3o$9bo$10bo!
Methuselah:

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 10, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
4bo$2b2o$3bo5$2bo$2o$2bo!
Unusually long-lived pure G generator-- not notable, but kinda funny:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 4, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
7bo$3o2b2o$6bo$bo!
Ya don't see this kinda thing much:

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 13, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
b2o$o2bo$o2bo$b2o7$9b3o$9bo$10bo!
A sorta strange collision:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 10, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
6bo$5bobo$5b2o5$3o$2bo$bo!
The boat can be reset by the same reaction.

EDIT:
Strange component:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 4, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n
4b2o$bo2b2o$obo$2o!
Based on the fact that boats eat dominos:

Code: Select all

x = 36, y = 42, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n

Nice discoveries, Moosey! I suppose the rule is now officially "GMO Snowflakes".
In unrelated discoveries, a 6-cell (4,1)c/19 that is unfortunately too big to be included in 5S:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 5, rule = B2e3/S1e2-a3-a6n7c
3bo$2b2o$2o2$3bo!
Found by rulegolfing.
With a one-time reflector:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 15, rule = B2e3/S1e2-a3-a6n7c
3b3o$4b3o$5bo12$2o!

I suppose so, but we can call it GMOflakes for short
Should we make a thread?
These two similar objects suggest an eater:

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 9, rule = B34c6n/S2-n3-ck4cijqtwy5y6n

In fact, with a suitable object, the former may work:

surprisingly it searches at about an average of 13 soups/sec which is pretty good, considering all those pathological.

A fairly impressively long-named p4 pulsar-like object:

There are a lot of p3s; here's an example:

Code: Select all

what I believe is a totally different p6 (totally different from the other p6s that is):

Code: Select all

Most p4s are either two p4s put together trivially (there's one which is nontrivial) or stator variations on two other possibilities. Here's a little break, albeit not terribly refreshing:

I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

The C/2 to C/1 is now repeat time 21. There is also a repeat time 6 C/1 reflector, as well as a repeat time 19 C/1 to C/2 converter.

The C/2 to C/1 can be over clocked to p19, which is convenient as that's the repeat time for the C/1 to C/2. It breaks at p20 though.
