Hi!

I guess I did not notice the 392+8X family, which also has a compression 74,75,78+ apparently. Well, if someone is specifically looking for a p440 one, this one is smaller, but I agree that it is not ground breaking indeed.

Although not a pattern in GoL, I've recently been thinking about a B3/S23 replicator spaceship with a static information tape, and although not really practical, here is a theoretical design with a few ideas stolen from constructor-memory-tape.rle from Golly's Life/Signal-Circuitry folder:

Stage 0: A singeton glider, coming from the SW, is about to collide with a stable universal read-copy-construct mechanism to the NE, plus a broken line of blocks stretching from the SW to the NE that consists the tape.
Stage 1: Synchronized salvos are fired that construct a pair of diagonal 3b2o$3b2o2$2o$2o blocks in the far NE, and north of the replicator unit.
Stage 2: A small (most likely p120) gun is activated that shoots gliders to the NE that pull an elbow block far away at the end of the construction tape.
Stage 3: Heisenburp-esque reactions are generated, that emit a backwards (SW-travelling) glider towards the replicator unit if a block is there, and nothing if it isn't.
Stage 4: The replicator unit receives and duplicates the information. One output is used in the universal constructor, (presumably fed into a binary decoder, and then into a simeksian construction arm) and the other output is used to copy the tape.
Stage 5: To copy the tape, another gun of slightly higher period due to geometry is activated that sends NE glider salvos to the highlighted block 3.2A$3.2A2$2C$2C and pulls it. The information from the tape is stored and collides with the reaction from the salvo pulling it, and places a block in the correct location corresponding to that on the previous tape.
Stage 6: Once the new replicator unit has been constructed, and the information has been translated, the elbow block from Stage 2 triggers a SoD-based destruction sequence.
Stage 7: An extra output glider from the destruction is fired at the new replicator unit, and the process repeats.

If there are any major holes in the design, or it is simply too impractical for use, let me know.

I have the 34-bit one listed as being created by Kayzan on 2015-10-30, based on a partial synthesis of yours. This new one is basically the same, with one minor improvement (making one boat first saves one glider).

This looks oddly familiar, but I had no record of it. I think the familiarity is due to the fact that this forms in almost exactly the same way that the very similar 17.242 (Twin hat) does.

I made a heart synthesis from 10 gliders. Can someone reduce it to 8 or 9 with proper gencols searching of the object at t ≈ 60 and/or a better cleanup?

Astounding! The previous synthesis took 108 gliders! (Actually, that's 17.1006 aka Valentine; Heart is a P5 oscillator).

Nice! Sadly, in both of these, the biloaf/bipond mechanism is too large on the exterior end to allow two copies of the other part to be used to make a quadloaf/quaadpond.

This suffers from the same problem as the above - even though the inductor appears nicely all at once, it is not at the edge, so attempts to bring in a block (say) interfere too early. It might be possible to mangle the exterior as it recedes to form a block or something similar, but that won't be trivial.

It's never been easier to look at the current state of the art and compare it to a new "small" candidate. This new p300 can certainly be packed down a bit smaller, but it seems unlikely to get as small as 45x35:

Yes. Peter Raynham found that over 40 years ago, and it may have already been known then. You can pretty much assume that all 1-glider collisions into small objects have been tried long ago, and that also includes symmetric arrangements of multiple reflected or rotated copies of one glider around small objects. This is not to say that you shouldn't try them - there is much to be learned, even in territory that has been previously explored. I'm just saying that if you make discoveries in such areas, they have likely been made before, many times, by many people, so posting them won't be useful. You can find many copies of this reflector in use on the wiki, or various pattern collections.
