Ok, I have looked everywhere. Can someone PLEASE tell me the name of a goo mac-compatable search program.

Actually, any program for ANYTHING in life would be useful.
Just tell me the programs you use (I already have golly)

Check out the "Downloadable Computation and/or Search Software" section of the Game of Life links thread on this board. JavaLifeSearch is a good general cross-platform search utility. Many others you might need to compile from C/C++ source code (which you could certainly do on a Mac.)

I'm also partial to Paul Chapman's Seeds of Destruction Game, which has been used for a number of things mostly related to glider syntheses. It only took a few minutes of work with it to find the base reaction for 31c/240 orthogonal Caterpillar spaceships.
