Why does Catagolue list xq4_163zzzzzzzzzzzyzym48e as requiring seven gliders?
Someone must have submitted an RLE containing this (possibly a Mark Niemiec mosaic of alternative syntheses for a glider) and it was misinterpreted as a synthesis for a pair of gliders:

Code: Select all

``````x = 42, y = 65, rule = B3/S23
35bobo\$36b2o\$36bo2\$39bo\$38bo2bo\$38bo2bo\$40bo49\$o\$b2o\$2o2\$7b2o\$7bobo\$2b
2o3bo\$bobo\$3bo!``````
Hey, why quoting all this?
I think hmm another way to login is cool but Google is good. You don't necessarily need to login to uplode hauls or even spams!
Just call others to create a payosha256 key for you(since I can't)
There is that sym.
There is already an inflated symmetry but there doesn't seem to be a "blockspam" symmetry
Code: Select all
### Re: Catagolue Oddities
Something weird is going on here, not sure if the viewer is at fault or if it's catagolue:
https://catagolue.appspot.com/object/xp ... s/g17b3s23
EDIT: definitely seems to be a Catagolue thing as the RLE is the thing that's flawed:
Code: Select all
``````x = 9, y = 9, rule = S23/B3/17
3.pR.qJ\$2.pNpFqFqBA\$.pJ3pF2qB2A\$.pFRJRpNpR2A\$pB2RFpRAqB2A\$.V2.J2A\$J\$.F\$2.B!``````

Code: Select all

``````x = 9, y = 9, rule = 23/3/17
3.pR.qJ\$2.pNpFqFqBA\$.pJ3pF2qB2A\$.pFRJRpNpR2A\$pB2RFpRAqB2A\$.V2.J2A\$J\$.F\$2.B!``````
EDIT2: okay, there seems to be State 58 cells in here for some reason:
Code: Select all
``````x = 9, y = 9, rule = 23/3/58
3.pR.qJ\$2.pNpFqFqBA\$.pJ3pF2qB2A\$.pFRJRpNpR2A\$pB2RFpRAqB2A\$.V2.J2A\$J\$.F\$2.B!``````

Code: Select all

``````x = 9, y = 9, rule = 23/3/59
3.pR.qJ\$2.pNpFqFqBA\$.pJ3pF2qB2A\$.pFRJRpNpR2A\$pB2RFpRAqB2A\$.V2.J2A\$J\$.F\$2.B!``````
Is it just me or are the images significantly offset to the side here?
Yes, it's because it uses the pattern's bounding box, which then becomes a parallelogram when you apply the affine transformation (to make the hexagonal cells regular), and that parallelogram is then used to determine the image's bounding box.
Why are there two p2s called "beacon on something" and ":D"?
"something" was imported from an older census, and ":D" was Calcyman's idea of a joke.
Each day is a hidden opportunity, a frozen waterfall that's waiting to be realised, and one that I'll probably be ignoring
I don't think it was my idea; I copied it from an anonymous comment someone made on the page.
xs19_0br0f96z321's name appears to have a typo. Dock should be replaced with block.
I have historically worked on conduits, but recently, I've been working on glider syntheses and investigating SnakeLife.
Why would someone bother to optimally synthesise literal nothing?
I guess it's synthesis for the sake of synthesis.
