Special:WantedPages
(crossposted from here with additional info)
This special page gives me an error: https://www.conwaylife.com/wiki/Special:WantedPages
I'm using Windows 10 Home 64-bit; browsers I've tried it on are Firefox 69.0.3, Opera 63.0.3368.107, and Chrome 77.0.3865.120. In all cases, this error happens if and only if I'm logged in, and it doesn't look like anyone else here has this problem. This suggests it might have something to do with a preference I set, but I have no idea which one it could be.
Somewhat off topic, but these are inaccurate, which I had reported before but which nothing was done about:

Re: Special:WantedPages
Nothing happening for me lmao
Re: Special:WantedPages
Okay, I may have found a way to reproduce this finally; it looks like entries #993 and #994 in the WantedPages list, whatever they are, are causing the issue. I had set the number to display to 1000, hence why I was getting the error straight out of the gate.
Okay so click on this link: https://www.conwaylife.com/w/index.php? ... offset=972
See how numbers 973-992 are displayed?
Now let's try incrementing it by one: https://www.conwaylife.com/w/index.php? ... offset=973
Error. The first offset that doesn't contain #993 is offset=993, so let's try that: https://www.conwaylife.com/w/index.php? ... offset=993
Nope, still an error. If we increment it again: https://www.conwaylife.com/w/index.php? ... offset=994
Now it works, so it looks like #994 is also problematic. Other than this I was able to go through the entire list without a problem.

Re: Special:WantedPages
The last entry I can see is now #1019, "Vase siamese bookends", both #1020 and #1021 appear to be undisplayable, and #1022 is "Very^9 long snake". So the links that are causing the problem must be alphabetically in between those, which gives us some more information as to what they could be.
Re: Special:WantedPages
Well, one of them is "Very^4 long canoe", from the red-link haven known as User:Apple_Bottom/TODO (also where the previous offenders "Tri-pentadecathlon 15" and "Tri-pentadecathlon 9" come from).
Also: #278 says "Invalid title in result set:"

Re: Special:WantedPages
Hmm... considering it's listed between the alphabetically first entry with two links and the alphabetically last entry with one link, it may be something that starts with a weird special character.
It's also strange that "Very^4 long canoe" would cause the page to break but not "Very^9 long snake".

Re: Special:WantedPages
Let me see what will happen if I make another red link to Very^4 long canoe...
Now it is in #250, displayed normally. The problematic pages are #934 and #935, and the #933 "Valkyrie's memory cell" becomes the last viewable item before the error. This implies that "Vase siamese bookends" is pushed one down and gets cursed. Therefore whatever in #935 is the true sweet spot of the problem.
EDIT: I made another red link to "𒆠(a cuneiform character)" , which pushed "invalid title in result set:" to #153 (modified the numbers above accordingly), between RLE:Lobster (3 links) and 1-dimensional cellular automata (2 links). Previously there isn't such a page between, so the conclusion is that "invalid title in result set:" refers to a set of red links with invalid starting character, and they need not to be the same.
EDIT 2: through a series of experiments done in User:GUYTU6J/Loafer, it seems that the sick red link is between "Very^9" (#937, abnormal) and Very^9 long snake (#939, normal).

Re: Special:WantedPages
All right, it's one of the (i believe) 33 "control chars" before ! in ascii (U+0000~0020)
EDIT:
EDIT:
By some reason that I can't wrap my head around, RLE:Loafer is actually referring to the RLE:loafer that pops up when you type "RLE" into the search bar (with RLE:lobster but that's a redirect). It seems to reference the actual RLE for the loafer although its title has a capital L like the correct page is supposed to have... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalan07 wrote: ↑October 19th, 2019, 1:14 pmhttps://www.conwaylife.com/wiki/Special:ShortPages (RLE:Loafer shouldn't be listed because it's in a different namespace)

Re: Special:WantedPages
Problem solved: here I removed the weird character 🅱 and a red link to "🅱lock" is cured.
EDIT: And - killing two birds with one stone - the edit fixed a "very^9 long 🅱oat" as well. No more errors!
