The Art of Life

Post by IgorCh » April 29th, 2011, 10:31 am

Hello All,

Thank you for the service you have provided. I wonder if there is a collection of artistic patterns created in Life and its generalisations? Most databases contain basic static and dynamic elements ("paints") but not the paintings. The aim is to have a realistic picture that is not reduced to many trivial still lives like ASCII-art, but rather represents a dynamic balance of larger building blocks.

In case it is of interest to anybody, here is a combination of a few strict still-life blocks and two simple oscillators:

Every artist has his niche, but I can tell you now that this is a scientific community, though a subforum might be created to accommodate this.

I really like the idea of all this, though, and that is pretty neat stuff.

Nice :)

Even though this is primarily a scientific community, I don't think it would hurt to add a "life-art" subforum. It might bring more activity to the community.

Try making an "Art Life" thread, instead of a sub-forum.

This necropost has an impressively huge timespan, but it's not actually the kind of necroposting that's problematic at all. Every now and then it's fun to see old ideas pop back up to the top... if only for a moment.

This thread is in fact an "Art [of] Life" thread, so there doesn't seem to be any need to create a new one. (!)
