Is there a way to make the hive and block from three gliders to make an 8G synthesis of 14.617 or will this be 9G?

I don't have a 3-glider synthesis of that constellation, but 9G is one better than the previous 10G. This also reduces 15.504 from 13 to 12 and 15.505 from 12 to 11, (EDIT: and one of the two beacon variants from 16 to 12.) Unfortunately, it doesn't help the 18-bit pseudo-still-life (like 14.617 but with two adjacent blocks).

Generally, a still life is not notable unless it has special eating or reflecting properties. This is becuase still-lifes with no special properties are usually trivially easy to construct.
