I see, Goldtiger is being very picky here. (No offense or any negative meaning here!)

This is a reminder that PotY 2020 voting ends in less than a day.
I am tentatively considering myself back.

Are we done, or does 3/17 still exist in some parts around the world?

I think we're not.

Just in time?

You were way ahead of the deadline -- it's still March 15th in American Samoa (but not in Samoa) for another hour and change.

American Samoa is only -12, and it's already past midday in the UK. I think we're done. https://time.is/Anywhere_on_Earth

For reference, the top five numbers correspond to the Bandersnatch, Speed Demonoid, glider syntheses for various spaceships, smaller 3c/7 spaceships, and Rob's p16.
I am tentatively considering myself back.

Wow, two tie votes in the top three slots! The POTY competition was unusually heavily contested this year, as well as having an unusually large number of contestants.

I guess theoretically we could break ties by sorting the vote lists and taking the one with the most highest votes first -- but I'm probably happier if the ties just stay as ties.

Congrats to the Bandersnatch and Speed Demonoid!

I calculated the correlation coefficients between people's votes and the totals:

Bellwether: goldenratio
Iconoclast: C28

Most similar tastes: toroidalet and iNoMed
Most divergent tastes: EvinZL and Saka

Most correlation between patterns: 'New growing spaceships' and 'Width-12 c/6 orthogonal spaceship'
Most anticorrelation between patterns: 'Natural loafers' and 'New exotic spaceship eaters and spaceship-to-G converters'

I think I did calculate it last year but didn't post it. Of course the threads are still there, so you can calculate it if you want. It'll just take a bit of boring data entry.

The correlation between patterns is expected: "New growing spaceships" and "width-12 c/6 orthogonal spaceship" are both in the Spaceship Discussion Thread realm; "Natural loafers" and "Spaceship eaters and converters" is naturalistic vs. synthetic.
