Courtesy of Bellman. Normally, the large still life would destroy itself for any stable-interval larger than 1, but in the particular search I was running, the pre-TL got hung up on some nearby object for long enough for this to get reported. The beehive-with-tail was manually added.

EDIT: The larger still life has a nice symmetrical variant, which would be useful when including it in CatForce searches:

Don't worry about it too much. New people are always re-discovering things that had been found before, and that's to be expected. Sometimes even veterans do it. (I once found an oscillator and posted it - and then about a year later, I discovered it again, and I posted it again, forgetting that I had found it before!). It's not rude. Rudeness happens when one throws back an attitude when others offer helpful suggestions. :)

It's a good idea to avoid constantly flooding the forums with every tiny little discovery, drowning out other posts. If you have several of them, post them in one longer message rather than several short ones. In some cases (e.g. "is this oscillator known?"), it may be easy to see if it has been found before by searching the wiki or other online resources, like Stephen Silver's oscillator repository, or even Catagolue (because for most patterns that are on the wiki, it links directly there).

Hey, that leads to the interesting question: is preblock arrangements universal, that is, can it produce anything? I think so.

I might also write a program that enumerates small pre-block arrangements and census them.
