Ahh, much better.
Yes, that stamp collection's tiny blue labels have given me far too many headaches. The labels are too small no matter what color they are.
Also, if there's a rule of thumb for knowing where to look for, e.g., the R-to-pi converters, I've never discovered it -- have to scan through the whole column every time. A few things are actually in two different places, like the pi-to-Bs...
Attached is an attempt at reorganization, as well as better labels. (The file is too big to post in a code block, unless Nathaniel decides it's a good idea to triple the current limit -- I certainly wouldn't mind that...) The gaps in the lists might give some ideas for what combinations might not have been searched yet. For example, are there really no easy R-to-Gs?
After I was most of the way done, I realized that a serif font like Courier isn't so good for readability at high zoom levels... but there's no way I'm reworking it again just now!

I picked a canonical orientation for all of the objects, and made sure the input was in that orientation. The R, B, and H are all oriented so they travel to the right, and the canonical R naturally transforms into canonical B, which becomes canonical H twenty ticks later.
If everyone gets used to these utterly arbitrary orientations being the canonical ones, then we can meaningfully define left and right turns and forward moves for any of them, except the glider of course. Or any conversion between any of them, with or without mirror-image flips -- e.g., simsim314's BRx46 (B right turn to flipped B), or chris_c's HFx58Bb (H forward to flipped B). The pi-heptomino, and the queen bee if we end up adding that, might just have "T" turns instead of "L" and "R"...?

I've added a few more converters -- e.g., alternate G2-to-R and G2-to-Gs that seem to get left out all the time, plus the Spartan H-to-G6 that simsim314 just mentioned. Also I sneaked in an H-to-G2 that definitely isn't an elementary conduit, but it seemed worth having it there to match up with the G2-to-Gs.
So I changed the questionable H-to-G2 from green to yellow... and then realized that there were quite a few other not-so-elementary conduits scattered around the collection, so I made them yellow too. The yellow converters I would say are the ones that should be kept in the collection just for the record, but they're unlikely to ever get used for anything. They're just a little too big and too slow, and so it's too easy to make thousands of other things about the same size and speed.
-- Now, all this does
not imply any intention on my part to volunteer to maintain an official pattern file for the elementary-conduit collection... though I certainly think someone should do this! I'll have my hands full with the
H-to-G and H-to-G(n) collections for the foreseeable future. There are still a lot of H-to-Gs missing from the attached stamp collection, by the way, but I think there's no need to worry about adding them here -- they'll be much more usefully classified in the H-to-G collection.
Seems to me that anyone who wants to take over the maintenance for this collection should post a copy of whichever version they like best, in the first message of a new thread with an appropriate title. Whoever makes the first move gets to choose their favorite format...!
Meanwhile, just let me know if I broke anything.
