Or, even worse, spam the internet with spammed forums.

We could go on and on, right? :lol:

That D-shaped thing is commonly known as a cap.

Thus the still life is known as "cap and table" (Catagolue) or "up table on cap" (from http://codercontest.com/mniemiec/lifesrch.htm).

House is something else.

Remember, novelty won't come from SLs, except if they exhibit a proprety that can be used: (an eater that does X, a catalyst, or even if it is natural).
You can think of them like molecules: some are awesome but most are useless.

Pretty well known (in fact, it's found on the "guns" of the weekender). Traffic light predecessors are so common, I could fill a book or 926 with 'em

Code: Select all

That block-in-a-fleet flipping it has been known for ages (and it's been on the wiki since Dec. 22, 2011).
Not new.

Nice! It's a bit hard to put the B-heptomino there, though, so the reaction can be reduced to this:

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 7, rule = B3/S23

Gustavo discovered this reaction on an eater a year ago: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1257&start=125#p17689

This reaction looks like it could lead to an inefficient synthesis of the mango with tail.

Dave Buckingham discovered a basic reaction to do this several decades ago, from only 2 gliders. Here it is, plus several 3-glider variations:

Buckaroo variants have been reported with cis-boat and dock (17M instances), mirrored dock (28M instances), and moose antlers (122M instances). The pentadecathlon has 41M instances in Catagolue; however, it has to be in the right phase of 15 in order for this oscillator to work. So I estimate we're about one order of magnitude away from finding this combination. (Though the bi-pd version won't be found for a long time, if ever.)
