I mean that the boat is placed out of the way of the glider lanes used to create the boat, so future gliders can clear the boat, i.e. get past it without hitting it.PC101 wrote: ↑October 20th, 2020, 11:49 pmWhat is clearance?MathAndCode wrote: ↑October 20th, 2020, 11:29 pmThat has fairly good clearance, so it's probably not completely useless.
Actually, looking at it again, I realize that I thought that the clearance was more than it actually is because of where the reaction starts.

Also yeah it is mostly pseudo, but there are some tied and welded parts
Re: Thread For Your Useless Discoveries
"Useless Discoveries" is for discoveries that have no practical purpose (e.g. because they have some flaw that makes it so they can't possibly work, or even be fixed to work, or they just combine known discoveries in an obvious way), but nevertheless have some property that makes them interesting (e.g. they almost oscillate at some period, or they almost regenerate some still-life, etc.)HelicopterCat3 wrote: ↑October 21st, 2020, 5:31 pmHuh I didn't know there was an even more useless one, otherwise yes I would've put it there in a heartbeat.

"Absolutely Useless Patterns" is for discoveries that not only have no practical purpose, but they also have no interesting properties either.

Interesting. It doesn't resemble a traditional billiard table, but the rotor would technically be completely enclosed within the stator (would as in if the stator could be stabilized).Kazyan wrote: ↑October 21st, 2020, 7:07 pmBellman was being weird about a catalyst, and it turns out:

Also, I'm trying to find a way to insert a Herschel from an alternative direction in order to decrease the repeat time of this Herschel-to-LWSS converter
. Should I download Bellman and use it to help me, or does it only work on already-found partial reactions? Other combinations are reflectors with a similar late showing of the reflected Glider.

Thought, here is the right place to put this.
This is a c/2 p120 (pseudo-p60)double lwss siderake.
First it spits p60-lwss out on one side. And if you stop here, it would be a real p60. Shortly after the LWSS-lane it becomes P120. and LWSSes appear at the opposite side.
EDIT Wrong! Long before the first LWSS-lane the patterns differentiate.
Way to big to be usable, but perhaps a nice object to try the elimination of dirt.

Why is there an extra HWSS at the back?Mr. T wrote: ↑October 25th, 2020, 1:45 pmThought, here is the right place to put this.
This is a c/2 p120 (pseudo-p60)double lwss siderake.
First it spits p60-lwss out on one side. And if you stop here, it would be a real p60. Shortly after the LWSS-lane it becomes P120. and LWSSes appear at the opposite side.
Way to big to be usable, but perhaps a nice object to try the elimination of dirt.

@bubblegum
Oh, i forgot. This is not useless for me. Golly has a not very smooth "Auto-Fit"-function. When a spaceship reaches the edge of the grid-frame, it jumps back into the center of the frame. With this extra-ship the width of the spaceship is the same as the screen. So, if i switch to fullscreen, the spaceship stands still while the rest is moving. Therefore are "stoppers" at the rake-lanes to prevent the growing of the spaceship.
