"Just"? Sure, we could, but what on Earth would be the point? Highway robbers are huge and painfully slow compared to any number of known G-to-2G conduits.

(And really this B266 G1 is just a little too big and awkward already to be much of any practical use. It probably won't be showing up very often in glider-adjustment circuitry, because we already have smaller options.)

Yes, in addition to the distance to the reflector in full-diagonals, there are three independent binary decisions:
• Whether to reflect to the left or the right;
• Which of the two gliders creates an output glider (this affects the output glider colour);
• Whether to use a CC or CP semi-cenark (also affects the output glider colour).
This gives exactly two timing choices for each output lane.
What do you do with ill crystallographers? Take them to the mono-clinic!

Sometimes you get unlucky and there's an overlap in mod-8 timing choices for two of the combinations, but not in this case it looks like.

For the CP turn (only) there's a third equally compact timing option available, using just a regular Snark and suppressing the second glider:

This useless thing works all the way down to P56. The input clearance is terrible though.

As for why I thought that it was okay to post this here instead of in the H->G thread, I remembered EvinZL's post and made the opposite change, resulting in a Bx106 Herschel conduit without an Fx119 output that must be deleted if wanted.

Possibly the 16-bit catalyst will be useful in a few rare situations where the beehive doesn't fit. The NW2T132 has never really seen all that much use anyway, though, because of the relatively poor repeat time.

The problem is that the output Herschel's first natural glider hits the ship if it isn't stopped, an eater 5 doesn't fit, and feeding the output Herschel into a dependent conduit with the standard transparent block hits the fishhook that deleted the input Herschel's first block if there is one and turns the block into a honey farm if there isn't, so the conduit requires a 7×9 eater weld that I'm positive isn't Spartan in order to be able to feed its output into anything.

Almost a very weird blockic HLx38H... I think?? The location of the natural B's block must be unoccupied, but unfortunately there's a boat left behind that the natural glider doesn't clean up. It also features the earliest "H" interaction I've ever seen, starting from the 9-tick (!) Herschel predecessor:

There is at least one way to clean it up and get a signal out and get an H-to-G, but the initial H collision is so early that the H-to-G classifier script can't understand what's going on and so I couldn't easily get a proper timing (I believe the lane is SW-13):

Indeed yes. Specifically, it's HSW-13T43, and it has two versions. I have added both versions to my draft of the Elementary Conduits Collection.
