This should be added into LifeWiki as it's size is a quarter of OTCA metapixel. What name do you prefer? I suggest a name "LWSSL metacell" since there are LWSSes orbiting the edge of the metacell, hence "LWSS Loop".C_R_116 wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 10:41 amThere's this device with a row of numbers which define the rules for the cell. Well, I named it "NSRC Metacell" for "neighboring signal ring count" which is basically how it processes its state.b-engine wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 11:09 amThis should be added into LifeWiki as it's size is a quarter of OTCA metapixel. This metacell have the functionality of OTCAMP while having smaller size, which previously only Life metacells have this size. It's design is also unique, which "did something amazing that no metacell had done before".C_R_116 wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 11:48 amWell, I named it "NSRC Metacell" for "neighboring signal ring count" which is basically how it processes its state.
There are other unit life cells that have a smaller bounding box, like dbell's P5760 unit Life cell. Or there are some that did something amazing that no metacell has done before, like calcyman's 0E0P metacell, so I don't think it generally has to be on the LifeWiki.
Actually, English isn't my mother language. I'm bilingual.
And what if their shift key is actually broken? Does that seem more important than broken grammar? Does that seem important enough to make offtopic posts in a thread intended for discussing cellular automata and patterns?
In my post, I posted two (hopefully not entirely offtopic) patterns to give examples. (The second pattern shows a possible way to deal with soups that appear to explode.) You just repeated part of what I wrote, without contributing anything that would be on-topic there.

For example:
- If you intend to do soup search using apgsearch, ensure that it makes sense to apgsearch 16x16 soups that consist entirely of state-0 and state-1 cells. (Because apgsearch generates such soups for C1, and generates two-state soups for all official symmetries.)
If your CA is such that patterns made entirely out of state-0 and state-1 cells always keep this property, then it may be possible to create a ruletable with additional cellstates inserted between 0 and 1, so that apgsearching two-state 16x16 soups will produce multistate objects.- Add relevant comments/explanations after the @RULE line and before the next section (documentation of the CA, descriptions of individual cellstates when that makes sense, hyperlinks to sources / forum posts, etc.)
