Since the release, puzzled people have attempted to figure out the inspiration. According to the Expo commitee, the symbol represents cells and life forms; and search requests for related biological terms on Google have rocketed these days. But how can thousands stumble upon the mathematical field of cellular automata at the same time?

Wadufi, 19, a Life enthusiast, has noticed the oddities as well. Despite rich experience with cellular automata that guided him to put forth his own explanation, he was still stunned when speculations were verified via Ready the program: the Expo logo is a profile of an intelligent self-replicating being from SmoothLife.
