Inspired by this comic, I have thought some other members of an ensemble model:
Pluto is a DA star.
The Andromeda Galaxy is set to collide with the Milky Way in 100 years.
The average binding energy per nucleon for elements increases forever.
The sun and Sagittarius A* have swapped places.
Fermat's last theorem is false.
Only nuclear isomers are stable.
9+10 does equal 21, and the kid claims that 9+10=19.
All the fundamental forces combine at 100°C.
They invented teleportation, but they just teleported to the center of the galaxy and it destroyed all their teleporting stuff.

I'd still like to get the quinti-Snark working, though. It would make a record-setting prime oscillator pattern a whole lot smaller.

-- It wouldn't be a Mersenne prime, though, and primes of the form 5^k-1 are going to be ... um... kind of scarce -- and the same if you mix in semi-Snarks and do 10^k-1 or 10^k+1. But I'm sure something could be found that's 5^k - 2 or some other workable offset.

I might try a speculative catalyst/catfind search over the weekend, just in case a different tool helps turn something up.

Very nice -- those are, incidentally, the last 1500 digits of Graham's number (which agrees with the infinite power chain of 3s up to an inordinately large number of digits).

I wrote some straightforward Mathematica code to generate k^^infinity mod p (where p needn't be a prime):

It's naive and suboptimal, because all of those calls to EulerPhi are essentially factorising and reëxpanding a thousand-digit modulus. Really, to get a fast implementation, I should generate the list of moduli and then fold PowerMod[k, cdr, car] over that.

Nonetheless, 320 seconds in Mathematica to compute the last 2017 digits:
