nice rhombicuboctahedron
Its name is even longer: It's actually a pseudorhombicuboctahedron.
you mean an elongated square gyrobicupola (I forgot the name of it and just googled it and somehow it told me it's a rhombicuboctahedron :vsad: )

Is there an oscillator that makes the following spark?

I want to use it in this reaction.

I think this rule has quite a bit of potential.

It has a c/12d glider and c/4d tubstretcher:
Me: wait isn't this VesselLife?
*sees pattern*
oh wait no
The tubstretcher is known from one of yujh's recent rules though.
EDIT: no offense, but your rule can't really compare with VesselLife, which has three very common speeds and two more rare-but-not-too-rare speeds, not to mention the p92 and a lot of other speeds easily found with spaceship search patterns. Even Leaplife has more common speeds.

Oscillator discussion is boring me out. I'll return when the cgol community switches to something else.

Yeah it's very simple, bound to have been known.

Who compared it to VesselLife? Sorry for being Freywa here, but CA, like all kinds of science, is academic and collabrative, and no one should own anything, let alone comparing (Comparison for notability is another matter).

I actually think I kind of agree, other than pattern discoverers, although me discovering something is different than me owning it.

In any case, LeapLife has caught my interest after I saw the c/12 in ikpx2_stdin, but there's not much I can do. JLS doesn't work on LeapLife, so I can't show up with a bunch of sparkers :(

In any case, LeapLife has caught my interest after I saw the c/12 in ikpx2_stdin, but there's not much I can do. JLS doesn't work on LeapLife, so I can't show up with a bunch of sparkers :(
The idea is like Wikipedia, we can credit you, but you don't own anything.

The c/12 in ikpx2_stdin? It was found by PlutoniumSearch anyway (Wasn't that what I always tried to advertise, because that's one of my contributions I feel proud of?) and I believe lemon41625 tried to look for a tagalong but failed.

Yes, JLS does not - but rlifesrc does, so me and AlephAlpha are still looking for fancy ways of abusing it.

That being said, only JLS (and maybe WLS) has the features that I need to have a good chance at a successful sparker search-the solution combinations, unchecked and unset cells, and subperiods are features I use heavily when searching.

Ah, can you tell me how to set up even slightly advanced sparker searches? All I did was set the first row to be always-dead except the spark.

One of the million variants of PB*12P in LeapSymbiosis:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 8, rule = LeapSymbiosis
2.B$2.A4$3A$3A$A.A!
A case where the bicolored domino cannot replace the robust-tub:

Code: Select all

x = 18, y = 9, rule = LeapSymbiosis
15.A$.B11.BA.AB$.A13.A4$3A11.3A$3A11.3A$A.A11.A.A!

Who compared it to VesselLife? Sorry for being Freywa here, but CA, like all kinds of science, is academic and collabrative, and no one should own anything, let alone comparing (Comparison for notability is another matter).
Is it just me or does it seem that [certain people, you know who you are] like to brag about how their rules are better than other rules
