B356/S03568 is an explosive rule that can be apgsearched. Just try running 500x500 soups to see its explosion.

Are there any other rules that explode but can be apgsearched? Maybe rules around B2-a5/S135678.

Large soups in B3/S235ek tend to explode similarly to DryLife, while small soups tend to stabilize.

True, LifeViewer supports Generations rules with isotropic non-totalistic specifications. We haven't added this to Golly yet.

As the name suggests, this rule simulates the 1-dimensional CA W54 via a system similar to GeminoidParticles. The state 5/6 cells alternating between the top/bottom row are the equivalent to the cells in standard W54. This is just a proof of concept and not supposed to be used to simulate W54 because that can be done directly in Golly.
