Since Golly is only tricked to emulate B0 as alternating rules, we can't find the composite of B3/S23 with this script. Since its apparent composite (B56/S5) doesn't have a B0, thus ineffective.
So essentially, it's Golly's subroutine for handling B0 rules but accepting any rule as input?
Is it easily modifiable for non-totalistic rules? (Somebody entailed how to do this in another post somewhere)

1. Golly doesn't support B0 non-totalistic rule yet.
2. No idea yet.

BTW, alternating can turn a well-behaved on-the-edge rule into a complex rule, where 'on the edge' means the chaos can only survives on a conversion wavefront.

e.g.: If we alternate this rule, B68/S24578, we get emergence of natural gun in B01346/S02
