There is a small c/8 diagonal spaceship that's reasonably common, about 1 occurrence in 100 soups in C1:
Code: Select all
x = 3, y = 3, rule = B35/S2467
3o$b2o$obo!
The most unique characteristic of this rule is its oscillators. For one thing, this rule has eight distinct oscillators that all fit in a 3x3 bounding box (plus two still lifes, the tub and Z):
Code: Select all
x = 20, y = 9, rule = B35/S2467

o5b2o!
In terms of engineering, the c/8d spaceship's formation rate is such that the rule may or may not allow engineering. I haven't found any stable eaters yet, but there is a sparky, volcano-like p9 that can eat the c/8ds on several diagonals:
Code: Select all
x = 17, y = 22, rule = B35/S2467
