Could someone make collections of oscillators and other nice and useful patterns here?
I will send my laptop for fixing soon. After that I will try to do everything possible just to contribute. I hope that you can help me a little until then.
Actually I will try to help somehow even today.
This rule is so beautiful and is worth attention.

Nice gun I found in one of the sample soups:

Hey ya. I'm really sorry for necroposting but I've got a peak of interest in Traffic Flow. I'll be occasionally posting stuff here, mostly reactions for now. I'll see if I can get into rlifesrc and apgsearch. If you wish you can contribute but I won't force nor advertise it. Things I'm interested in the most are the techy stuff given this is a fairly techy rule but anything else is good too.

To-do list:
-stable G-to-Hive
-stable 180° reflector
-destructions of objects

Here's something to begin with:

TF is loaded with blocks, with them being about 50% of apgsearch results alone, and given only 13-14% is stuff other than them or G-s and most of these contain some kind of blocks too it's not surprising that they're difficult to completely destroy. That's significant part of why are they so numerous anyway. Here's a 2G destruction of one:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 10, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
obo$3o3$2b2o$2b2o3$3o$obo!
Here's a clean reaction that can slightly shift a block:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 9, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
obo$3o3$2b2o$2b2o$5b2o$5bo$5b2o!
The diagonal p2 can let G pass through and fires another one backwards, something that can be turned into an one-time 180° reflector, like here:

Code: Select all

x = 14, y = 4, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
2o4bo4b2o$2o3bo5bo$11b2o!
This is a clean 3G synthesis of the p2:

Code: Select all

x = 14, y = 21, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
$5bobo$5bobo$6bo4$2b2o$3bo$2b2o9$6b3o$6bobo!
This is a 3G reaction well replicating the event, though it affects a much larger area with sparks:

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 18, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
$4bobo$4b3o5$9b2o$9bo$9b2o5$4b3o$4bobo!
Here's an one-time lane-changing 180° reflector:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 11, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
2bobo$2b3o5$4b2ob2o$4b2ob2o2$b2o$b2o!
A remarkable mechanism to change a G's lane and move a block 1 cell upwards:

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 11, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
bobo$b3o5$5b2o$5b2o2$6bo2bo$5bo2bo!
The snae can turn into a hive:

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 17, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
4bobo$4b3o11$3b2o$4bo$3bo$3b2o!
That's it for now. I don't know if any of these are useful but here are they anyway.
Good morning/afternoon/evening/night and sweet dreams!
Enjoy your life and all the best! May THE LORD help you!
Have a suuuuperior day (and this all also to your own)!

Haven't been involved in TF much after my last post here but here's an useful-looking 3G collision:

Code: Select all

x = 15, y = 19, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
2$bobo$b3o4$10b2o$10bo$10b2o7$6b3o$6bobo!
Because it seems notoriously difficult to destroy things in this rule, something that'd be needed for advanced patterns, I'd like to ask anyone interested to try to advance our available technology in that sector a bit. I will contribute to the extent possible too.

A very simple and chainable hive conduit with U output. In order for it to do anything as a splitter, a bait still life/oscillator (namely, the duoplet p2) would have to be placed and reconstructed using 3 of the output ships. Because of the ships' tight spacing, though, using them in any way is quite difficult. Finding a stable way to eat a portion of the output ships without disturbing the others would be interesting, and would probably allow for a quicker (?) splitter than is known currently.

Nice one, thanks! It'll be hard to use it for much though without some heavy adjustment but anyway I found that 2 blocks can effectively resist this kind of salvo if well placed. Even better, it ended up being a synthesis of googolplex's 3 blocks constellation that is said to allow an adjustable spaceship, though it also adds an extra blinker (fortunately removable with 1G):

Hey ya. Here's the daily reactions haul from me.

Let's begin with this synthesis of the core of cvojan's catalyst in 6G. Unfortunately I have failed to synthesise the whole catalyst (along with the two blocks), but I did manage to do this:

Code: Select all

x = 24, y = 22, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
2$11bobo$11bobo$5b2o5bo$7bo8b2o$5b2o9bo$16b2o4$8bo2b3o$7bobobobo$7bobo
6$8b3o$8bobo!
This 3G of a B-H reaction looks useful to me:

Code: Select all

x = 28, y = 12, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
$3b2o10bobo$4bo10b3o$3b2o3$13bo$12bobo$12bobo!
2 more syntheses:

Code: Select all

x = 19, y = 70, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
6$4bobo$4b3o$11b2o$11bo$11b2o2$7bo$6bobo$6bobo41$8bobo$8b3o2$b2o$3bo4b
3o$b2o!
EDIT: The second one is impossible.

This looks worth using too:

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 17, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
3$8bobo$8b3o$19b2o$19bo$19b2o3$12bo$11bobo$6bo4bobo$5bobo$5bobo!
2 blinkers can split a G once:

Code: Select all

x = 21, y = 13, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
2$11bobo$11b3o4$8b3o3b3o!
That's about it for now. Can anyone try to synthesise the reflector, please? All my attempts to date failed. It proved difficult to construct almost anything in this rule to be honest, with the 7-cell still life in cvojan's catalyst needing as much as 5G (though it could maybe get optimized further).

To-do list:
-synthesise the reflector
-synthesise the cvojan's catalyst
-other random syntheses
-find a stable 180° reflector that doesn't change lanes
-stable G-to-Hive

EDIT:This reaction can shift a block:

Code: Select all

x = 14, y = 14, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
$3bobo$3b3o6$4b2o$4b2o3b2o$9bo$9b2o!
aaand...yeah! The 6G synthesis of the reflector!

Code: Select all

x = 30, y = 21, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
$15bobo$15b3o5$8bobo$8b3o4bobo$15bobo$16bo$2b2o$4bo$2b2o21b2o$25bo$13b

Nice one, thanks! I think we do have some larger loop-based already but these are much larger and slower. I'm out of ideas right now on how we could do one that returns the G into the same lane it was in, except in the opposite direction.
Trying currently to assemble the cvojan's catalyst. Looks plausible but also quite expensive, possibly up to 15-20G.

A hive to 2U conduit accessible from two angles - it should be noted that for activation of any of these conduits, the bait objects (for hives, blinkers or, more commonly, duoplets) will have to be reconstructed. Blinkers are easier to reconstruct than duoplets, but most conduits are more integrable with duoplet bait than blinker bait.

Hey ya. It seems to produce an extra block. Plus I'm not sure if we have a synthesis of the hive in that position. It's quite early here though and I'm kinda sleepy, might have made an error.

The extra block is an effect of just letting the hive out at the other end rather than appending a converting conduit - doing so would eliminate the block and provide useful output. We do have a synthesis of a hive in that position, as it can be created by colliding a single U with a blinker or duoplet, both of which are known to be synthesizable.

The closest call to a 180-degree reflector and fast splitter I've seen yet - the bait blinker is regenerated *one cell off* from its original position.

Code: Select all

x = 24, y = 15, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678

Hey ya. Can someone please try to find a clean rake making nothing but G-s? It'll likely take some time 'til I get to be able to do it. I think these are useful.

A 0-degree hive to 5U conduit (left) whose output can be modified (right) to 2U at 90 degrees at any chosen distance. The conduit that this is based on has a huge spark off to the left that, if perturbed into a blinker in the correct orientation, would allow a stable splitter.

Code: Select all

x = 49, y = 73, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
45b2o$45b2o53$38b2o$6b2o29bo2bo$5bo2bo29b2o$6b2o24b2o$2o30b2o$2o34b2o

4b2o7b2o$43b2o$11b2o30b2o$11b2o!
Since I haven't really explained this:
Currently, the key step to getting a splitter out of a hive conduit is getting a blinker in the shown position through some interaction of the hive's spark with part of the conduit.

Code: Select all

x = 27, y = 69, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678History
13.2A$13.2A50$5.D$5.D$5.D$6.2C$5.C2.C4.2A$6.2C5.2A$2A$2A$4.2A$4.2A2$7.
2A$7.2A!
Other simple 1U hive seeds (perhaps stable?), or other hive to hive conduits would be useful as well, as they may provide easier constructions or different spark patterns to perturb.

Hey ya. I'm really sorry for this absence, please, was busy.

This is an extremely rare p106 oscillator (only 4 times in C1 so far) that looks a lot like it could be useful in this context:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 7, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
10b2o2b2o$9bo2bob2o$b2o7b2o$b2o10b2o$13b2o$2o$2o!
A stator variant:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 8, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
10b2o2b2o$9bo2bob2o$b2o7b2o$b2o10b2o$13b2o2$2o$2o!
I wonder if these could open us a new door in circuitry in this rule due to them being beehive hasslers. Perhaps they could allow for construction of G-s in exotic configurations that could be of use. I will try to install apgsearch on Tuesday or Wednesday (kinda busy today) in hope new oscillators appear that could be useful.

On another note, in one old post I found this loaf oscillator:

Code: Select all

x = 17, y = 17, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678
3$12b2o$12b2o$9b2o$8bo2bo$9bobo$10bo$6bo$5bobo$5bo2bo$6b2o$3b2o$3b2o!
This one probably doesn't reveal much, but I wonder if we could make loaf circuitry too. Probably won't do much regarding testing that possibility 'til tomorrow due to business.

Interesting conduit, Boka - it can be modified by placing an additional block, which makes it much faster and able to stand alone. Two copies can be put together to form a p48.

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 11, rule = B2e3aciy4jnw68/S23678

The two modified forms of the conduit, and the associated p48. Unfortunately none of them so far are easily chainable with other conduits, but I'll keep searching.
