Unfortunately, the puffer is not very new—look at my old posts on the rule and you’ll find it.

The LWSS’s commonness has been observed— you have pretty much confirmed it comes from some variant of a beehive colliding with a spark

Dang, so close! I wish the pi appeared in a different place when it replicated—maybe then one copy could be eaten in a known way.

Anybody have luck doing it in other ways? A pishuttle might help with making guns if a period 19 LOM based one doesn’t work out—I might try for the zillionth time making one, if nobody else wants to try and see how difficult it is to do it by hand.

Maybe someone should use one of the catalyst search programs to find an eater or investigate the combinations of 90° pi interactions for a possible loop (the p58 wick has very flexible timing so phasing won't be an issue). Also, there's this reaction that may be useful for p86 pi oscillators:

Removing the back gliders on the second spaceship will destroy it since the gliders prevent births.
