The end of an eccentric ellipse does approximate a parabola. That's why we say that a thrown ball travels in a parabola even though it's actually orbiting the earth in an ellipse.

I believe it is bounded at minimum by O(slog(t)), where slog is the super-logarithm function (the inverse operation of tetration) and at maximum by O(t).

I would say roughly linear for the whole pattern. Not sure about just the glider stream past the blocker, but the amount of time it takes for one counter to delete another grows exponentially at least.

B1e/S1e2ci3y is pretty cool.

It is explosive if you could call it that - it has several small common breeders, but most things looks well-organized due to the invincible wall. There's also chaos, but it is not so common.

It has, at the same time, a REALLY small wickstrecher:

If you remove B2e from Brian's Brain you get a somewhat less explosive rule with an extensible butterfly.
