### Re: Miscellaneous Discoveries in Other Cellular Automata

Smallest predecessors that I found to a linear spacefiller in my "Castles" rule:

-smallest bounding box (6x6)

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B3678/S135678
bob3o$6o$bob3o$3obo$6o$3obo!  -smallest population (14) Code: Select all x = 16, y = 16, rule = B3678/S135678 15bo$14bo2$4bo$3b2obo2$4bo3$11bo2$9bob2o$11bo2$bo$o!

99.9% sure that smaller predecessors in both criteria do not exist in B3678/S135678.

Bigger question: is there a smaller predecessor to a linear spacefiller in any OT rule?

"Castles" have at least four different diagonal wickstretchers, with speeds of 2c/48, 2c/18 and 2c/14 (if I calculated this correctly), though that one you mentioned is the most common one:

and at least five different orthogonal wickstretchers (4c/74, 2c/22, 2c/8 and 2c/4):

I am very interested, being a googology person.
Are you gonna make ships that use the Goodstein sequence or hydras or something else?
I am a prolific creator of many rather pathetic googological functions

Basically using hydras, specifically Primitive Sequence System, if I can get it to work properly. I'm working on it, but it's tedious, because I'm basically making a Turing Machine. At some point, I think it would be possible to extend it to much greater ordinals, but making this rule is annoying enough. I know it's possible, but I really wouldn't mind getting corollary-sniped at this point. It's probably going to actually end up being f_(w^w^w^w^w^w^w)(n), but oh well.
