After seeing the recently discovered SMOS in the 5S collection I thought it might be interesting to look through the collection for ships which have a low population over a long period. I thought that minimising the metric of mean population divided by period might be indicative of this kind of ship, so here are the ships with the lowest value of that metric from each of the three collections. Interestingly, they all have a similar mechanism which involves a small active region repeatedly creating and cleaning up small SLs. To be honest, I can't believe the oblique ship shown here isn't an oscillator, but it's definitely a ship.
