Miscellaneous Generations Rules

Post by M. I. Wright » July 20th, 2015, 12:24 am

This thread is for Generations rules that support some interesting objects, but aren't quite interesting/active/unique enough to deserve their own thread.

I'll kick things off with 23/345/3, which has a neat-ish diagonal puffer and... nothing else, as far as I can tell.

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 7, rule = 23/345/3
3.A$2.ABA$.A.2B$A2.2A$.A.BA$2.ABA$3.2A!

As a general rule, a CA that supports one interesting object supports other interesting objects as well. I have never seen an exception to this rule. For example, here is an orthogonal puffer in your CA:

Code: Select all

x = 15, y = 4, rule = 23/345/3
2.A9.A$.A.A7.A.A$2A.A7.A.2A$.2A9.2A!
Edit: They can interact:

Code: Select all

x = 74, y = 5, rule = 23/345/3
61.A9.A$2.A9.A47.A.A7.A.A$.A.A7.A.A45.2A.A7.A.2A$2A.A7.A.2A45.2A9.2A$
.2A9.2A!
There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't.

I call this rule Sierspinkski maker, the rule is 1/1/5, draw a dot and see what it does!
