Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread

(c/5 greyship connection from 2c/2 level edge front to common joint back) It was not known, and it's so simple it's almost embarrassing. I had set up quite a few complicated searches to try to find a connection before setting up the search whose very first, smallest run found that so I certainly fe...

Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread

Great find! I wonder why I didn‘t even search in that direction! Due to it‘s spark, the spider is really what *WSS are for c/2 technology.

Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread

Not being a scholar, I think it’s pretty impressive that you can do it at all! I think the p3 part is the biggest non regular massive spaceship structure one has ever built. I’m still struggling to understand where exactly you did what split an in what direction. What we had so far was mostly a tree...

Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread

Of course! Thank you Bullet51 and Calcyman, i forgot that a symmetric c/6d could also be one of the possibilities of maintaining a tubstretcher. Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread

Nothing to add, just that I had hoped for another solution, but none of the real experts for switch engine technology came up with altenative stabilizations. I'm still convinced there must be other similar switch engine hasslers out there, if only we take the effort look for them.

Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread

One of the last remaining challenges of 2c/4 against-the-grain grey-shipology is the slope 0 back part. It seems pretty likely that a p4 solution does not exist. However, Keith Amling already found some p8 partials earlier in this thread. Here is another one, which might be more amenable to combine ...

Re: amling wave searches braindump

Although it's highly unlikely that we can find completions for that big wave, it's nevertheless an interesting result that it exists.

I think I found that wick as well, but it's good to see that there is a 'multi' version frontend. There seems to be a slight chance for a completion!

Re: amling wave searches braindump

Really a pity! I hoped for at least some small waves. Could you run 2c/8o and 4c/8o similar to 2c/4. There might be at least some multi blinker or block puffer engines. ther you also can have translational symmetry in the wave.

c5d and c6d might be out of reach currently?!

Re: Spacefiller Recipe Working Thread

I understand David’s request in a different way: 1) Build a repeatable synthesis for a small half-space-nonfiller. Note that it must be two-sided in order the non-filler does not run into the later versions of the recipe, or a slow salvo 2) Set up a gun ensemble that produces that salvo to produce t...

Re: amling wave searches braindump

Attached are the raw format of the 122 2c/4 results. What a wealth of interesting results. It seems weird that c/4, c/5 2c/5 don't produce similar wealth. Maybe that needs extension of the search space? For 2c/5, there also should be chicken wire type results! Could you do a similar thing for c/3? ...

In preliminary searching f2b turn didn't look too hot Did you try symmetric searches, or just the asymmetric search?
