Oh, okay. That explains why it can find the c/2's just fine. Drat :cA for awesome wrote: qfind/ntqfind don't support diagonal or oblique spaceship searches, and as such the "x" parameter is ignored.

Re: B2en3ij4a5e7e8/S1c2cek3-a4aiqw5aky
This rule is a good find! :D It's very pretty-looking, has interesting and unusual behaviour, and it looks like it has good potential for engineered patterns, too. Perhaps "DiamondLife" might be a suitable name? That's one of the names I was considering. Experimenting, I found a replicator->2(c/4):...

B2en3ij4a5e7e8/S1c2cek3-a4aiqw5aky (Diamonds)
B2en3ij4a5e7e8/S1c2cek3-a4aiqw5aky seems like a weird mix of a B345 generations rule, and a bubbly LTL rule. You'll probably notice that a tub evolves into a 44-cell diamond still life: x = 28, y = 13, rule = B2en3ij4a5e7e8/S1c2cek3-a4aiqw5aky 21bo$20b3o$19b2ob2o$18b2o3b2o$17b2o5b2o$bo14b2o7b2o$obo1...

For a rule that is surprisingly searchable, b2en3ij4a5e7e8s1c2cek3-a4aiqw5aky. It features a replicator and many ships and guns.

I accidentally left a large pattern in rule 90 (random noise, I think) running with hashlife in the background and then I ran out of RAM. It sucked. I had a computer that would freeze up completely and make the audio stutter if RAM usage went over around 3.2 GB out of 4. It was always so scary. I w...

Are there any stable, totalistic rules with gliders as (or more) common as Life's?
EDIT: Yes, move works. Anything between Move and Life as far as general commonness.

I suppose a rule supporting a single-cell primer pattern is perfectly possible. A single cell primer has always been possible, by simply adding an extra state to the default 'Primes' rule. @RULE Primes-1Cell @TABLE n_states:11 neighborhood:Moore symmetries:none #State 0: Empty Space #State 1: Up sp...
