Re: Thread For Your Unrecognised CA
Ahh, I hadn't noticed that in your original example so I didn't know what was going on when I replicated it. But in that case, here's an extensible+adjustable "single-signal" 6c/something*N rake: x = 523, y = 65, rule = B2cek3q4-i/S13ck4k 76bo4$76bo4$76bo2$512bo4bo2$76bo2$476b2o6b2o$478bo4bo$76bo430...

Re: What about a "Forum Games and Roleplaying" subforum?
Hm. Forum games like Mafia or Corrupt a Wish would IMO be a wonderful addition to the Random Posts thread or the Sandbox (that is, the subforum, not the section!), but I have a feeling that role-playing activities wouldn't be much of interest to regulars in the mostly-academic spirit of the forum at...

Re: Random posts
I assume the name is 'actually' pronounced just as [saka] (vowel length doesn't appear to be phonemic in Malay/Indonesian?) -- so you're right about the schwa, but the first /a/ poses a problem as well. The usual english rendition of it would probably come out as [sɑːkə] or [sʌːkə]

I seem to recall a wiki page writing the pronunciation as "goo-SURE" (so /guːˈʃɚ/), but strangely I can't find it anymore...

Well, as far as just 'clean (double) backrakes' go, there's a decent amount of two-engine solutions along these lines x = 25, y = 20, rule = B34c/S2-i34cqz6e8 17bo$15bo$10bo4bo$8b2obo3b2o6b2o$8bo4bo9b2o$8bo3bo$9b3o3b2o$11bo$15b2o bo$19b2o$14b2o3b2o$19b2o$5bo$4bob2o$bo6bobo$o3bo3b2obo$o5b4obo9b2o$2ob...

Re: Oscillator Discussion Thread
Oscillators using the reaction were possible before, but using snarks makes it simpler and smaller. (It is fortunate that the input and output gliders of the reaction have the same color, otherwise larger glider reflectors would have been needed.) One such (comparatively quite bulky) oscillator can...

Well, I'm not really sure what happened to this thread starting on page 2, but I've just found this beautiful teardown and I figure it deserves to be memorialized somehow: wwei23, you've started to irritate many users on this forum, with a combination of needlessly promoting your '1x256X2+1' results...

On Stack Exchange there's a vertical-ellipsis icon that shows up to the right of each message, that lets you link back specifically to a previous message. There isn't anything like that on Discord (yet), is there? I suppose not, or at least not within clicking distance of a server chat! It's a litt...

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say with "rotationally time-symmetric"... suppose I should've slowed down a bit to think about what "multiplicity" actually means, haha. Cool idea! Looks like there isn't anything notable from October 2001, so mine would have to be Gabriel Nivasch's tremi- and quasi-pseudo SLs from July of that year. Kind of weird to know that this hobby was being actively researched & developed this long before I had the faintest idea what it was. L...
