I ran that through oscar overnight, and it got to over 8 million generations and still ticking. I stopped it there. I noticed, when I began to run it, it had many more linear patterns, but as it matured, there were more diamond-y patterns. I hate to say it, but I ran this pattern without the oscilla...

All right, I noticed there are several things that trigger other things in life (duh), but I wanted to see what kind of things can trigger other things and how. I want to see who can make the most diverse, biggest cleverest, fun-est, Rube goldberg style device. So here's how it'll all come together....

It's possible to make GIANT oscillators with this rule, by making a line with a length that is a power of 2(greater than 2) and a thickness of 2. Re: What I'd like to see in Golly

Geez, do I need to be any more specific?
On windows, and while listening to music, the unnecessary beeping that golly does is very annoying.
Is there really a need for denial that this happens, or suggestions that I probably would've done already unless I was stupid?
Thanks.

Or when I click the screen when it is zoomed out too much to draw. Really, I don't mind being told that I can't zoom in fu...

double wireworld

I have finally formulated a way to make wireworld much more compact, and I call it (un-creatively), "double wireworld". It's as simple as having a second type of wire, and an "always on" cell. I made my first rule table creating it, too, and I think I did a pretty good job on it. Heresha go. #double...
