An orthogonal spaceship I found in a rules table rule. Looks like a failed replicator. Moves at 152c/1334! Ships with speed between c/2 and c

Does anyone know of any (orthogonal) ships in lifelike CA rules with speed between c/2 and c other than 2c/3? I'm especially interested in rules with B2 and none of B013, though I believe it's possible there may be such ships in a rule with B0. Related question: If I'm searching for a pattern (ship,...

Re: Some new spaceships.

That 2c/8 is new, as far as I know, and impressively compact. I'm glad to hear it. Since it was small, I wasn't sure if anyone else had run across it before. Re: Some new spaceships.

Hehe, yes, the wide c/3 was found by WLS, the rest were from gfind. I had forgotten I had included that ship. I'll edit my first post.

I picked out the higher period ships by hand. They're not too difficult to spot. It's not overly tedious and it's fun to collect the new ships that way.

A small fragment of a c/4 p8 ship, possibly curious because of the R-pentomino at the front of the ship.

Some new spaceships.

I found some spaceships. Hopefully they're new. I found these with gfind and used gmatrix to help sift through the results. For example, I'd search for 3c/6 ships, and throw out all the c/2 period 2 ships and keep the less common period 6 ones. I have by no means searched in an exhaustive manner, so...

Re: Incomplete search patterns - try to complete

That partial for the 3c/7 is nice. I never got around to finishing my 23odd search for 3/7, I'm glad somebody did. Searching the 25 odd appears a bit daunting. Used WLS for the c/7, just happened to look at it an save the results partway. I'm not sure if I finished that search, though it's likely so...

Re: Improvement of gfind?

I don't have the expertise to work on such a project, but I would like to see a way to save partway and be able to resume the search later. The power here goes out often enough that it's a gamble to set up a week long search. Maybe there's already a way to do this that I'm not aware of.

Re: Online Database of Unsuccessful GFIND Searches

This would be a fantastic idea.

As for the 3/7c ship searches mentioned in the first post, I've completed 14 and 15 glide reflect and 24 even with wls with no results.
