B3/S45678 is the rule known as Coral, where most patterns exhibit this kind of behavior. I assume you opened a file or pasted in a pattern in the rule coral and then forgot to change the rule back.

That is definitely not in normal B3/S23 life, but probably a rule like Coral. Look at the top of the window and tell us what it says in the [] brackets before '- Golly'. That will probably explain the pattern shown.

Ok, I guess that would make sense. However the other Bx2 WolfVN subfamily that I am capable of making sense of would not follow that setup, which would be the one where the Wolfram rule is configured as normal, and then Bx2 is applied specifically to the VN totalistic rule. This only affects the Bx2 rules here. I found that the same bug from before is still present in the new script. I found this 17 cell methuselah that unfortunately only runs aroun 4K generations but I thought was neat: x = 15, y = 16, rule = LifeHistory 5C$.C.C$.C.C$.C.2C10$13.C$12.C.C$12.2C!
