Re: Splitters with common SL
The code I wrote to sort two-object glider-turner constellations into buckets... wasn't very well written, to say the least. In particular it got the color-changing and color-preserving 0-degree and 180-degree turners labeled backward. I finally got around to re-running the 0-degree turner analysis...

Can you do people a favor and publish this on GitHub when you have time? Thank you! Oh, I thought that I'd already published gnf2seed.py but I can't seem to find it on the forums, so here it is: import lifelib from functools import reduce sess = lifelib.load_rules('b3s23') lt = sess.lifetree(n_laye...

. p1978 (46x43) might be possible with p46 technology depending on how much of it was known at the time, but I kind of doubt it. Here's a p1978 gun that could have been built in 1978: x = 371, y = 355, rule = B3/S23 115b2o5b2o$115b2o5b2o13$54b2o5b2o$54b2o5b2o2$114b2obo3bob2o$114bo2bo3b o2bo$115b3o3...

Re: Extreme compression construction arm
Nice the pslmake uses 16 glider signatures (2 colors 8 phases in them) to allow filtering recipes not doable by DBCA/ECCA, unfortunately (seems to me) the database is not processed to support recipes with such restricted phases. (A lot of p2 recipes could be discarded by a pessimistic reasoning.) Y...

Re: OCA:tlife
Instead of letting people discuss the matter, dvgrn constantly inserts their long posts after my posts, flooding the discussion threads. dvgrn is speaking as someone who is "above the argument" even though they're directly involved as a side. This is harassment. They're trying to gain upper hand on...

Re: Next steps on getting back to normal editing for OCA:tlife
Firstly, since the one thing that seems to have unanimous support here (from both dvgrn and confocaloid) is having more opinions about the 'condition vs transition' issue, I'll try to explain my understanding of the difference between these two terms. (Maybe this should be cross-posted to the 'rule ...

Re: Extreme compression construction arm
Good job, unfortunately I cannot see a clean line to destroy an eater Why do we need to do that, exactly? The only time that I recall that we needed to destroy an eater was in the DBCA, and that was solely to allow the elbow to 'jump back from infinity'. ... is building the white part by DBCA cheap...

Yes we can adjust the collision by 8/16 ticks not to need the eater. Wow ... 2 blocks instead of scorbie and an eater :) Excellent! Can you please incorporate this into the above design? If I calculate it well, with snark (rather to 2 eater2) and the reaction from move4 reset we could make the reflection with correct p8 synchronization ) ... so 2 blocks and eater rather to the rectifier. OK, yours turn ... the final touch ... considering the build (and also the destroyal costs). Re: Extreme compression construction arm
And a bit shrinked version: Using 3 Snarks to produce the kickback glider seems rather excessive. If we slightly rework the NW31 inserter, we can replace it with a p8 bumper together with a Boojum reflector, at the expense of only allowing the DBCA-destroying gliders to have a single phase: x = 191...
