Re: Thread For Your Accidental Discoveries
Domino + 2 snakes = Pseudo still life. x = 7, y = 5, rule = B3/S23 2b2o$obo2b2o$o2bobo$2b2o2bo$5b2o! With gliders: x = 18, y = 13, rule = B3/S23 13b2o$11bobo2b2o$11bo2bobo$7b2o4b2o2bo$8b2o6b2o$7bo$4bo$4b2o$3bobo2$2o $b2o$o! That's a true still life. The large hook shape is unstable without the snake.

By the way, get Energetic v3. It's better due to fixed bugs. An easier method is to copy and paste the Ruletable directly into Golly. It is a lot easier and quicker. Dang, completely forgot about that feature until now, thanks. (To clarify, go to File > Open Clipboard once the rule is copied) Or you...

Is this a new class? "Wave-producing"? It definitely is not new. I found this on March 10, 2017 here x = 3, y = 6, rule = B3ai45i6n/S2-k3-a46c7c bo$3o$obo$obo$3o$bo! And danny found another one without replicating waves a few posts later. Yes, but the class was not formally named. It also has two s...
