Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
Thanks. I indeed missed some of the micro-optimisations, especially the ones requiring lane change. But at least these micro-optimisations are probably the most important ones in the RCT project, given that they make slow^2 gliders of the most expensive arm more efficient. Updated variant: Yes, the...

Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
@Pavgran, do you still have the tools to compile this into a seed? Yep. I adjusted some of lanes and phases to minimise cost. The recipe is small enough to do it by hand, so I didn't bother writing script for it. There's what the final activation glider looks like (it's in correct phase mod8, we wo...

Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
I have not tought about optimiation of the 2 p8 refectors recipe using one time turners. I suppose you used expected color phase one turner build costs when optimizing it. When there is an option to chose a cheaper phase, I hope you did it. That was calcyman's idea and initial design, but that part...

I have done just manual preparation for yellow gliders… 4 variants depending on initial state of the DBCA… Yes it would be nice to finish the DBCA varianted levels to bits compiler from given initial configuration…. Not done yet. ...

Re: Dependent Reflector Terminology and Analysis
To me, 'dependent reflector loop' accurately describes this particular type of oscillator. The word 'signal' doesn't feature in 'dependent reflector loop', so even though I agree with confocaloid's point that these* dependent reflectors cannot reusably transmit information, I don't see why that shou...

Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
Oh it is more complicated: I have added the constraints (we can choose A,B,C,D,E) simillar rules could be used anywhere, but I hope using them on other phases is not worth the complications. -- if we add [X define variable X and X] end of scope of variable X, we should extend the DP state by all de...

Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
I believe that was necessary because there are (mod 2) phase constraints: the perpendicular gliders are forced to be in the same phase as the salvo gliders. Oh I forget to think about that, yes, they are mod 2 phase constrained, but seems the are in opposite phases. That's fine: the phase differenc...

Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
Unfortunately I have not tried codding agnosticize for the case of interfering perpendicullar gliders ... maybe doing the first few gliders by hand ... Beyond those first few gliders (in yellow) which don't need to be changed at all, there's no risk of perpendicular gliders because I ensured that t...

Re: Goucher-Grankovskiy construction arm
Defragmentation of the slow salvos. This is already done very well by vanilla slmake. (Yes, it's frustratingly slow, but that's only really a problem when you have > 10000 gliders. In any case, I have some preliminary ideas for parallelising this step, so I'll work on implementing this in pslmake.)...

Creating a monochromatic slow salvo for the white part of the DBCA. I've prepared HoneySearch databases of monochromatic salvos, so I could convert these into a pslmake database and then see whether it works. Re: How about a unidimensional spaceship?
The only remaining cleanup tasks are for the trails left behind by the switch-engines. Owing to that backward stream of gliders from one of the switch-engines, we probably want to have the Corderabsorbers near the *source* of the switch-engines, and launch the Corderships from the far end (travelli...
