Re: Search utilities executable?
I would like a precompiled version of apgluxe for B2ekn3iknry7c8/S2-a3 C1. C4_4, D8_4, and D4_+4 would also be nice. Attached file has precompiled binaries for all standard symmetries. I see it's a pretty slow rule to apgsearch. There's nothing I can do to reduce min soup requirement - that's a ser...

I think everything you download is like this.. it first makes that weird thing, and then turns back. This might be bad for impatient people... It's actually good for impatient people: it makes it harder to try to to open the file before it's finished downloading. Also, in the event your browser cra...

Re: Thread for basic questions
Ok sorry for asking this again. (At least I know more this time.) I'm having trouble compiling. Yesterday I downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and followed this tutorial . I tried compiling ofind, and I got this: c:\ofind>cl ofind.c Microsoft (R) 32-bit C/C++ Optimizing Compiler V...

Re: Logic Life Search
Following up on a bug report posted to Discord a little while ago: Here is a reduced test case (not necessarily minimal) which exhibits the bug. The search pattern includes negated variables but in the output pattern one of those variables has both the variable itself and it's negation set to "On". ...

* Use get-rows.py from the qfind repo (instructions included)
* Move or copy the "initrows.txt" file to your ntzfind folder.
* Run
Code: Select all

First of all: my first post here as a beginning Game of Life enthusiast, pleasure to meet you all :) Out of pure interest in what I'm able to find in all those random soups I have been contributing some hauls to Catagolue over the last several days using wildmyron's apgsearch builds in this thread....

Thanks for taking the challenge! Would your end piece work with odd width as well? I need two different backends for odd and even widths. Ahh, I kind of glossed over that but it crossed my mind. I haven't actually looked back at the width 7 chicken wire ship to see if it connects. I just assumed th...

That's a fairly easy to use set of components and connections. This method can be used to construct ships for arbitrary width chicken wi...

Oops, I meant D4_+1, D4_+4, C4_1, C4_4 and 1x256. I've updated the zip file in the post above with executables for all symmetries. You'll need 7zip or other file compression utility whic supports the 7z format. please also do 5g(or 8g) or these: https://conwaylife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=425...

Re: Search utilities executable?
What about others like C4_1, C4_4, D8_+1, D8_+2, D8_+4 or even 1x256? Yes, I can do a few more. D8_+1, D8_+2, D8_+4 - these aren't valid symmetries. D8_1 and D8_4 are already included. D8_2 is weird, doesn't really make sense for CA soup, though I think muzik had some ideas along those lines but no...

Side note: Are there any P39 oscillators that aren't combinations of P3 and P13 oscillators? There are two p39 bumper loops: one with a p3 bumper and one with a p13 bumper . If you include the one with the p3 bumper then it's probably better to use the (canonical?) lower population version here: P3...

In response to a request on the forum, here are several precompiled versions of apgluxe v5.2-ll2.4.2 for x64 Windows. Included are 4 files for the following symmetries: D8_4, D8_1, D4_+2, and D2_x.
