Re: Let's create a language!

Strange. It sounds like you're right about the sounds. I use these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA_vowel_chart_with_audio https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA_pulmonic_consonant_chart_with_audio Though when I look up cat it says /kat/. It seems to be the same for other words. What should we go by? ...

Re: AUPNWoPT

Posting unnecessary posts is called spamming. There is no such thing as an unnecessary message in The Sandbox™ (mostly) plus, that post just consists of a random pattern which perfectly fits this thread. Instead, your messages, which do not contain useless / pointless patterns, are rather unfit for...

Re: Let's create a language!

I think a should be /ɐ/. /a/ sounds like the a in cat, and I don't think that sound would fit the language. This is not the case, at least in most major english dialects. The "a in cat" is usually [æ]. Have you tried listening to Wikipedia's sound clips (in the infobox at the bottom)? https://en.wi...

Re: Minecraft Flying Machine CA

How do pistons push exactly? I don't see any piston heads, only single blocks. Edit: Are there sticky pistons or just regular ones? It looks like the machine you gave me uses only pushes and no pulls. Piston head is state 4. You can read the comments on the ruleTable for what each state is. There a...

Re: Minecraft Flying Machine CA

Why are there so many piston, rsblock, and slime move states? It can't be just the direction. I'm too lazy to look at the rule table. I believe this was my attempt at implementing the 12-block push limit. However, it doesn't work, because of splits: x = 7, y = 13, rule = uDirMCSlime 2.A3.A$.6A$4.A$...

Re: Let's create a language!

C should be /ts/ or /c/. /c/ is similar but not the same to Ћ (failed to find a way to input its sound). Can it be that sound or /ts/? Have a good day! BokaBB The sound Ћ makes according to my google is completely different from /c/. (According to my google machine again, it represents the sound /t...

Re: Let's create a language!

I definitely do not know all english dialects, but usually I hear "hot" as [hɒt] or [hɔt] (I pronounce it the latter) (I've also heard some replace the t with a glottal stop ʔ but that's not what we're talking about here). I'm quite sure though, that there probably is an english dialect/accent somew...

Re: Let's create a language!

C and sh should be Ц and Ш in Serbian, not 100% sure what IPA sounds exactly they are,but I think it is partially clear. Phonology is clear from one my previous comment plus ch. Orthography too. Just phonotactics.... Have a good day! BokaBB My google machine says that <Ц> represents the sound /ts/, ...

Re: Let's create a language!

I'll say this again. We need to clearly define all of the phonology, orthography, and phonotactics. What does the glpyh "c" represent? Is it the voiceless palatal plosive, /c/? The voiceless postalveolar sibilant affricate, /tʃ/, or the voiceless alveolar sibilant affricate, /ts/? What does "sh" rep...

Re: Let's create a language!

Holy cruds, this thread has 3 pages already? :? I think we should define the phonotactics and allowed diphthongs as well. It looks to be (C)(C)V(C)(C) so far, I think... as for diphthongs, I cant be bothered right now to list all used so far... maybe just allow all? And what's the phonemic inventory...

Re: Let's create a language!

I have noticed something bad in Waceeghe and I don't want it here:the words and the opposite - meaning words have no similarity at all. I propose you to reform that. I wont. Waceeghe has a negation particle, like in most (all?) languages (for example: "not good" -> "tho lei"). However most, or all,...

Re: Let's create a language!

Hold on here, before we start creating words, we need to determine what sounds we want in our language i.e. our language's phonemic inventory. The best way to do this is using the International Phonetic Alphabet . We also need to agree on what letters should represent which sounds. Are diacritics al...

Re: Catagolue Oddities

Because you specified Marine To correct / nitpick this a bit, it seems that lemon41625 has been searching marine, not MatHandCode (https://catagolue.hatsya.com/census/xmarine/C1), and they did so using a custom ruletable (because you need ruletables to search custom neighborhood rules as of now), a...

Re: Catagolue Oddities

But the example that I gave is not a real apgcode. Even different patterns in the same rule could both have that apgcode. The population the set of cells corresponding to a BLSE does not become infinite in B3S135. Yes, all replicators in a rule are lumped into the single "zz_REPLICATOR" object. Apg...
