Re: Atomtrap puzzle game

Btw, I can't get Atomtrap to work on my Vista computer. It says: Runtime Error 1507 - Display using 32 bit is not supported by available hardware at line 1487 Any way to fix this? 64 bit mode please? About the speed, I checked the speed of the atoms and it was around 3-4 sq/sec. So I guess I'M the o...

Re: Atomtrap puzzle game

It's a cool game, but it needs a Pause button. I find that there are levels that are overly difficult because you can't stop to reflect on your next moves. Also, it's cool that you save and load levels via Golly patterns. Just a fun 'extra'. Also a suggestion: There should be a tile with some mechan...

Re: How Your Username Evolves

Mine was fairly boring. Before: x = 81, y = 30, rule = B3/S23 14$11b5o2b3o3b3o2b2o2bob5o2b3o3b3o2b5ob5ob4o$13bo3bo3bobo3bobobobobobo bobo3bobo3bo3bo3bo5bo3bo$13bo3bo5bo3bobobobobobobobo3bobo7bo3bo5bo3bo$ 13bo3bo5bo3bobobobobobobob5o2b3o4bo3b3o3b4o$13bo3bo5bo3bobobobobobobob o3bo5bo3bo3bo5bo3bo$13bo3...

Re: Rule Tables + Weighted Life + Larger than Life

I mean, algorithms are simply easier.
Instead of having to tweak a file for a new rule, you just punch in a few numbers in a textbar!

Re: Rule Tables + Weighted Life + Larger than Life

I can't believe with Weighed Life that Golly hasn't added a seperate algorithm for it yet.
It would be much easyier then making a rule table.

Re: What I'd like to see in Golly

I think it would be cool to have a Census functiuon, like WinLife32 has.
Golly is better than MCell or WinLife32, but I have to keep all 3 because of these 'unique' featues of them.

This sounds like a cool idea. Do you have a rule table for it?

Wow! You could make circuits like WireWorld, and have them grow and change as it runs!

You need a simple Weighted Life format, like MCell has. And, maybe, Larger Than Life format?

Re: Hexagonal Life

The secret to finding life-like rules is to make certain combinations of cells "worth" more than others.

I'll find an example soon.

Re: The Online Life-Like CA Soup Search

There are some rules that form regular shapes, but still expand forever when given a large room, Like certain Generations rules. You could make the script use a torus universe with those rules, wait until stabilization, and then count them as normal. This would allow more rules to be censused.

Thanks for the multiplier. I do have a head start, though, as I am using MCell's StarWars collection (Using Golly).

What defines a rule as able to make computers?

I am testing collisions in the Generations rule StarWars, and I want to attempt to make a computer, prefferably Turning. Before I go anywhere further, I was curious about the rule having computers. Thanks!

Re: The Online Life-Like CA Soup Search

Thanks for awnsering my questions. Now I can finally do the Soup Search!

EDIT: I have a few suggestions:

1. Include Diomeba,Balanced Ameoba, and B3468/S03.

2. In the Stats page, include a "Least Common Object Found" section. Not all that useful, but still fun.

It would be a good idea to awnser some of these question in the FAQ.
A quick question: When i look up myself in the Stats page, it says I do not exist. Do I have to wait a while before it records me?

Re: The Online Life-Like CA Soup Search

I have sucsessfully activated the Soup Search, but I have another question:

How do you change the rule to work on? Myself, I want to start anlyzing other soups than Life soups.
