Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread
I've been running a huge mess of 3c/6 b2f searches for just about every initialization I could think of. It's definitely still a work in progress, but this easily-solvable reduction to c/2 dropped out for this wick ("double snake"?). The quickest c/2 solution I could slop together, no doubt wildly ...

Re: Pattern Of The Year 2023 Nominations
The difference between ordinary stretchers and greystretchers is that the latter are always infinite families of stretchers of growing widths. As much as greyships are not single spaceships but families of them. They go one step farther so to speak. The particular twist in the new greystretchers is ...

Absolutely no idea on whether to split or not. But it's really impressive to have it all at one place! Thanks for the compilation. I wonder if we could still find the one ore other small improvement for the patterns, now that I see them again. Not that this would change the message: A gap is closed ...

At dbell's suggestion I gave up on perfect clearance when trying to find a traffic light and/or both-phases blinker c/4d eater and it worked out much, much better, which is to say at all. Pictured here eating half of one traffic light, clearing a traffic light 4 half diagonals over (3 over is still...

Re: 50c/154 Condupillar thread
Btw., could someone run helix.pl and build_helix.py on 50c/154? That would most likely give alternative "standard" helices, but use much more *WSS.

To me it looks as if there is a solution, only we're currently not advanced enough to find it. You're the only one anywhere near it...
The world of 3c/6 seems to be rich, but hard to explore. There is no smallish ship with useful sparks like the *WSS for 2c/4 or the spider for c/5. But who knows!

Great!
I would be interested in the actual ships found (say up to population count 79), just to see whether there are any surprises. Are they available in a Golly-readable format?

It’s a pity that Keith’s programs are not easily available to the public. Other people making clever use of its features would potentially open a lot of new use cases. By this I assume you mean that his programs are not easily usable (and some experimental features might not be available). Keith's ...
